Art Prints & Colors Galore

Misfitting Things is an independent design studio based in Denmark, creating vibrant Giclée prints and other small-batch printed treasures from our workshop. We also curate and sell fun, beautiful objects from small designers around the world.

Founded by Danish designer and artist Julie Sommer, Misfitting Things celebrates a playful spirit and a love for unique, colorful creations that spark joy and stand out from the ordinary.

Our shop in Silkeborg is a lively blend of art prints, ceramics, pretty objects, cute t-shirts, and design knick-knacks. Stop by to say hi and explore our colorful world in person!

Playful living

At Misfitting Things, we believe that playful living is essential to a happy life. Surrounding yourself with vibrant colors and joyful designs can uplift your mood, spark creativity, and bring a sense of fun into everyday moments. Colors have a profound effect on people—they can energize, soothe, inspire, and transform a space. We harness the power of color to create art that not only decorates but also invigorates the spaces it inhabits.

All our prints are produced using 12-color Giclée printing on FSC-certified matte art paper, crafted by our trusted partner at a local printing facility in Denmark.

Meet the founder

Misfitting Thingswas founded in 2022 by Danish designer, digital artist, and color enthusiast Julie Sommer, who has a background in the toy industry. The art and objects from Misfitting Things reflect a curious mind and a kid-at-heart passion for unique wall decor and playful objects.

Julie is both a maker and curator, driven by a desire to create vibrant and extraordinary designs for vibrant and extraordinary people. She loves scouting for fresh takes on design, which is why everything in our shop is something out of the ordinary🦄
